Yay for puppies!
The founder, Colleen Paige, also created National Dog Day and National Cat Day. It's put up by her Animal Miracle Foundation and Network. Which is a non-profit organization that offers financial assistance and educational programs. They also try to get local shelter animals adopted on these holidays, and various other events throughout the year. Kind of nice.
It's getting warmer and sunnier.
It almost feels like it's too bright outside. But, it's better than dreary grey skies. I had more of those weird leg pains on Monday, and slept in. Then, my computer was really slow.
(Usually it does that when there's updates and such.) So, I didn't really have time to post Monday. Then, I was out all day yesterday. Again, not much time to post, either.
I went with my mom to her appointments for a test at a hospital yesterday. I thought I wouldn't have enough things to do, and be absolutely bored. But, oddly, I barely got through half the list of the things I wanted to work on.
We went to a really good Greek restaurant called 'It's Greek To Me' for lunch. We both got Gyros and drinks. The special is to have them with fries. But, the Gyro was so huge, I don't think I would have been able to down the fries as well.
It was full of layers of meat, and some salad, and a huge thing of tzatziki sauce on top. All in a very good pita. It was so big, I couldn't pick it up like you normally would. Had to use a knife and fork through most of it. Crazy! But, it was all very tasty!
I worked on the You Maga article while I was waiting yesterday. Managed to remember most of the words, without looking them up. Although, there was one kanji that really got to me. I've seen it with other kanji and it has a different meaning with each one. I haven't seen it by itself before, so I spent a while trying to figure it out.
Guess I'll look that up later.
Read part of the first chapter of my story, Alliance, again while I was waiting. Actually, found a couple of mistakes. Weird, since that's the chapter I've re-read the most. But, nice catch, I guess.
I also realized I didn't print out a hard copy of chapter 12 yet. I usually print out each chapter when I'm done with them, and put them together. It's becoming a pretty heavy thick book with that alone. Still not enough words/pages to publish the story as a novel yet.
I'm hoping for this to be a series, so I'll probably leave this first book on a big cliff hanger. It helps me edit the whole thing, and it's nice to have a hard copy version.
Worked on some crossword puzzles, too. It's been a long time since I've done them. So, that was nice. Also, read the rest of the last (or second to last) issue of Hadassah. It's about time! The next one is probably coming out soon.
When I got home, I also started a search term list for when I look for recipes. Sometimes, when I search for them, I forget what type of things I'd like to make.
So, this would be very useful. Also, will probably come up with a list for what music I'd like. So, fun fun!
I feel like I was very productive yesterday.
Even though I was gone. I also edited the lists to the right hand side. Will make it easier to read, and they're in a better order.
Finished watching Psychic Detective Yakumo yesterday when I got home. Had a very good ending. But, still left it wide open for a 2nd season. I really liked this anime, so I'm hoping they will make one. Yakumo's father's 'ghost' is still roaming free and will probably use more people to get at Yakumo. He thinks if he gets Yakumo angry enough, he can take over his body. And, finally, feel 'alive' again. Disturbing.
And, supposedly Nanase killed herself. But, they never found the body. And, if she did die, what would she be like if she came back as a ghost? Also, Yakumo and Haruka grew closer during this whole ordeal. Gotou is going to take custody of Nao. And, it seemed like she's working on talking. (She's mute, I think because of some sort of trauma.) Could be wrong. It was a very interesting and suspenseful series.
I had my psychiatrist's appointment on Monday. Everytime I go, it ends up being at most 10 minutes. She talks fast.
I have to get my annual liver and kidney check sometime within the next month and a half. Nothing's wrong with them, it's just a check to make sure things are ok.
The med I'm taking can affect the liver and kidneys. Even if you've been fine after years of taking it, it can still cause problems. I'm a bit reluctant to get a blood test, but it's to make sure I'm still healthy.
Started another drama on Monday called Oishii Proposal, or Tasty Proposal. It's been hilarious so far! Suzuko's a strong-minded woman who's a chef at an Italian restaurant. She 'bumps' into Haruki, a celebrity businessman, after he accidentally scratches her car at a restaurant. Later, they meet again at her restaurant. He tells everyone who works there that he's the owner of the company who took over the restaurant. And, since there hasn't been much profit, he wants to fire everyone and remodel the place. Suzuko and Haruki make a deal that if she can impress him and a 'special' guest that her food is on par with a 3-star restaurant, he won't fire them. Well, she ends up impressing them, and he keeps the deal. He's kind of a jerk so far. But, I think he's also a bit naive. Liking the story, too.

Started another one yesterday called Hanayome wa Yakudoshi, or The Pretend Bride. Another hilarious one. I like that I'm finding so many promising looking comedies for the week. Akiko is 32, or in her what she considers an 'unlucky year'. She's a news announcer. She lost her position to a rookie announcer. She's assigned to go undercover and experience life as a farmer's bride for a variety show. If she doesn't do it, she'll have to work as a janitor. She bumps into her ex-boyfriend from college, Ichiro, and asks him if she can pretend to be his fiancée. He reluctantly agrees to it. And, she heads out to his family's farm to meet them. (They're a peach farm.) She's supposed to stay there for 3 months. The family members all have their own quirks. One is obsessed with Tokyo and saving money to go there. Another is poor, and when things get to him he plays his trumpet instead of complaining. Another is convinced that Ichiro wants to take over the family farm, and Akiko is just playing him to get a piece of the land. She's obsessed with the farm and seems like she's planning on murdering Ichiro. His mother seems weirdest of all. She's the head of the family, and is extremely strict, cold, and judgmental. She seems a bit scary. This series looks like it will be another fave.
deviantART faves: Liechtenstein- Cup Collab APH: Cup Collab Aruu I did not make these! These 2 are for the Hetalia version of the cup collab. First, it's Liechtenstein in a cup of Triesner Federweiss. Looked it up, and it's a wine made in Liechtenstein, and is popular there. It's cute. Second, China in green tea. Also, cute. He's floating on the teabag. Funny that they put Shinatty in there.

Sorry it's a day late. But, I wasn't feeling too well.
We had our usual St Patrick's Day dinner. Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and soda bread. I love that stuff!
I wish soda bread was available all year round.
I like this holiday, too. I'm proud to be part Irish. (Half of me is.) But, I'm also proud to be an Ashkenazic Jew.
I love both cultures, and I think it's cool to be a part of both. Although, it's funny when people either hear I'm an Irish Jew, or look at my middle and last names. Some give me strange looks, some can't believe it, and some just are baffled by it.
I was stopped at the Canadian border when my high school (or junior high) was going to play in a competition up there. They thought my last name was cool and normal. They kept mispronouncing my middle name, and didn't have a clue where it comes from. They kept asking me, where were you born? When I told them Kentucky, they were even more confused.
Go me! Even at the Israeli border, they thought my middle name sounded so Jewish, but couldn't get over my last name. The day before that was Freedom of Information Day. Cool.
It's been slightly colder than normal lately. But, it looks like it'll warm up. Yay! The last couple of days I've felt like I was hit by a train, and my stomach has been turning.
So, I didn't post. I'm starting to feel better. Still haven't heard back from my penpal. And, apparently, a couple of other people are trying to contact her. But, no one knows anything yet. I'm hoping she's just in a place where the power's out and there's no signal for cell phones. Sad, that I hope that, but at least that would explain it.
I don't want to think about the alternative.
Got in contact with a friend from Japan who I haven't talked to in sooo long. We became friends pretty much just before I left college. She was an exchange student. Very nice person. At first, it really was just a hello. I said hello on FB just before the earthquake/tsunami. Kind of creepy, especially since it was like a day before.
I just noticed she was actually posting stuff, and she doesn't do that too often. She's fine, and was too far south from the badly damaged areas. But, she's rightfully, scared and frustrated. Again, I just can't imagine what it's like over there right now. Even if you were in an area with minimal damage, it still can affect you. Plus, I'd be afraid of the radiation problem right now. She wants to catch up, help me with my Japanese, and just generally talk. (She was happy that I'm learning Japanese.) That would be nice.
She traveled to Thailand, Paris, and Korea last year. Sounds awesome! She has pics of it up, but I haven't looked at it yet.
I posted 2 pics: Horse Sculpture Park 7. Both have been faved! Yay!
I kind of like how Park 7 came out. I joined 2 more groups on dA. One for getting your original characters out there. Another that's like a directory for all the groups on dA. Looks very useful. I submitted my drawing of Ravel to the oc group. They still haven't approved it. Oh, well maybe they're low on admins. I also managed to write a bit more of chapter 13. This chapter's going a bit differently than I thought it would. Still interesting twists in the plot.
Oh, and there's been a strange number calling my cell phone 2 or 3 times a day for at least the past 8 days. Only a few people know my new number. Just now, I tried calling that number back to tell them to stop calling me. They said that I was a part of something online, and had opted to get more info on things 'related' to it. I'm sorry, but I've never put my new number up on any website.
They say they're like career counselors or something. And, they help students get into the best schools. When I told him that I would like for them to not call me anymore, he said you're sure you're not interested in going to school? I said it again, and added no. (He sounded very upset.) Then he said let me make sure this is the right number, and I'll delete you from the listing. It was correct, and he said it won't go into effect until 24-48 hours afterwards. So, ignore any more calls from now until then. I hope they really will stop calling.
I read a while back that someone had that same exact number repeatedly call them for months. Only, they said they were T-mobile's collections department. They had Pay As You Go, just like me. So, it didn't make sense. Some people called back that number and had someone really rude answer that wouldn't tell them who they were. It's probably a huge scam. Sorry, but the whole thing was a bit upsetting to me.
On a side note, I had a message on my voicemail yesterday. And, I just checked it now. It was very sad. A kid had the wrong number, and said remember to swing by and pick me up to go to church. I'll be waiting. I hope they got the right number eventually.
Those calls I understand, and I'm not upset about.
I did my nails, too. It usually makes me feel better, so why not?
They call it Friction Frost. I've had it for a very long time. I don't even remember the last time I used it. And, I don't think they make it anymore.
It's kind of a nice frosty grey. I have another frost one that's kind of pink. I was into frosty colors for the winter.
In Proposal, Ken got closer to Rei after he went back in time again. He realized that the guy Rei married, is really not such a bad guy. Which makes it harder for him to break them up, and make it so he'll marry her in the future. I'm liking this series so far. It's an interesting story.
Next week, I'll finish watching Psychic Detective Yakumo. It's been a really good series. Getting pretty intense too.
Fairy Tail was just nuts!
Awesome fight between Natsu and Jellal. Natsu became much stronger than either Jellal or Erza anticipated. Erza thought the only way to save everyone, was to sacrifice herself to the tower, and somehow she'd be able to control it so it wouldn't explode. Why?!
Crazy!
Naruto Shippuden was awesome!
Although, I still don't like Sasuke, he has some really cool powers now. Naruto now knows more about Itachi, and the history of the Uchiha clan. Gaara joined the fight between the Raikage and Sasuke. He first tried to reason with Sasuke, but realized there's no getting through to him. From the hints of the next episode's preview, it looks like all the Kage battle Sasuke. That might not be a good thing. The villages won't have leaders if they're wiped out by him.
The story's getting really interesting. Nice to see after months of 'fillers'.
I finished Shiki today. It's got to be one of the most bloodiest/gruesome anime out there.
I know Elfen Lied, was very bloody. But, this seems more so. Also, it has horribly cruel deaths. It looks like Sunako and Muroi made it out in the end. All the other Shiki/werewolves seemed to either be killed off by the townspeople, or committed suicide. A lot of the townspeople survived. Toshio was one of them. Muroi turned into a werewolf or Shiki, not sure which. Not exactly the best ending to the series. Left a lot of things wide open. This series seemed a bit tiring, and dragged at times. But, what kept me watching, was the mystery behind the Shiki, who would survive, how will things turn out in the end, etc. If there's a second season, I probably won't watch it. Plot was pretty good, but slow moving. At parts it felt like they were just senselessly killing off characters, just for the fun of it.
It was very psychological too. Well, at least now I can start another anime. Maybe it will be better.
I'm not saying this was horrible, just not the best.
Started a new drama called Guilty: Akuma to Keiyaku Shita Onna, or Guilty for short. It's got a lot of good actors I'm familiar with. Very good so far. Meiko was falsely imprisoned when she was 19 for the murders of her brother-in-law and nephew. She's released 12 years later. After she was released, she got a job as a pet groomer. She seeks revenge, and starts looking into the truth behind the murders. As she finds people who gave false accusations against her, she messes with them for a bit, and eventually they're led to suicide. A detective, Takuro, crosses paths with her. I feel bad that Meiko was falsely accused, but isn't this the wrong way to go about it? It's really interesting, and seems a bit 'different'.
deviantART faves: Meet an UFO A Fox for Japan I did not make these! First, a hilarious LOLcat. All of our cats have done the same thing. It is pretty entertaining. Second, the artist who does the StupidFox comic, made a piece where he puts a band-aid on the Japanese flag. Kind of tastefully done.

By Daisuke Ono. This is the 1st opening to Psychic Detective Yakumo. The other openings are just different versions of this one.
The singer sounds amazing. Plus, he conveys such emotion.
It fits the series pretty well. The opening sequence is pretty cool, too. Looks a bit like Death Note's openings, though.
The singer's also a voice actor or seiyuu. He won Best Male Seiyuu at the 4th Seiyuu Awards for his role as Sebastian in Kuroshitsuji. Wow! He must be good, because it doesn't quite sound like him. Just read that he also voices the main character of Psychic Detective Yakumo. He also has a radio show. He does a lot of character songs. Very interesting sounding guy.
It was a little colder today. Had a mix of rain and snow all day. Now, it's starting to just be snow.
Hopefully, it won't snow too much. I'm thinking of making the tuna casserole tonight. I was going to yesterday, but was too busy. It will probably make a lot of leftovers, but that's ok. Means more lunches, and maybe another dinner.
I posted a pic on dA: Park 2 It already has a fave!
Brainstormed a little and looked at past notes for the story. Just to get the juices flowing again.
I'll start chapter 13 tomorrow. Played some more Mozart. Tried to only think about the music this time. Sounded much better. Not very many mistakes. I have all the components for the next sentence in that article. Just need to make it a logical sentence in English.
In Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, one of the students, Ookusa Manami meets the 3 conditions. So, she's nominated as a 1st choice 'player'. She's a customer who meets these conditions: borrowing, repaying, (the capital is) increasing. Sensei is nominated by the Self Hatred Party. Chiri was nominated by many different groups. Next part was about people's inner switches. When Jun's switch's on, he enthusiastically tells a story. Everyone's always touched by his stories. Sensei's 'switch' is behind his ears. He's very sensitive there. Supposedly, he speaks in a sweet voice and gets on his knees. But, the wrong switch, makes him self-destruct.
In Psychic Detective Yakumo, there's a ghost at the hospital. She visits sleeping patients. All she says is, "When will you die?" over and over again. Yakumo's uncle has a brain tumor, and at most, has a year left.
He was just there to get a checkup, because he was having some massive headaches. Nanase Miyuki was found and arrested. Haruka's mom made an album of all the photos her and Yakumo's mom exchanged. So, there were lots of pics of Haruka and Yakumo as kids. Both seemed to have a very happy normal family. Yakumo was kind of cute as a little kid. Miyuki mentioned that they're thinking of killing Yakumo's uncle. Why?!
Give the poor man a break! He's dying. I know one reason is to hurt Yakumo, but that's a little much.
Finally, figured out a good pose for my original character, Max.
Had most of his body 'mapped' out. Just was trying, for a while, to figure what pose his arms and legs would make. I think what I decided on fits him the most.
Hopefully, my wooden mannequin will stay in place. I'll finally get back to drawing him tomorrow.
deviantART faves: Red Velvet Cupcakes... OCs Wonderworld Double.Sweetness. Malfunction aaaaaalways sleeping Who Has The Largest? Chrono Days Sim Date I did not make these! First and third, are red velvet cupcakes and cake. Both look really tasty. Second, a funny oc meme. This one, instead of torturing your oc, you pamper it. It's a good one to practice on, too. Someday I'll get to it. Fourth, a hilarious LOLcat. Fifth, really cute pic of 2 cats. One's apparently fallen asleep. Sixth, a funny comic starring Prussia and Austria from Hetalia. Poor Gilbird. Gilbird is Prussia's bird. That bird's always on him. Seventh, another awesome and hilarious sim date from an artist I watch. I love her humor in these games. And, really anything she does. It shines through. This one has kind of an interesting story too.
