Happy Halloween!

Mood::iconicelandfukkiretaplz:

Yay! One of my fave holidays!:dummy:I'm not going to dress up in a costume this year, although that's a lot of fun in itself. I am wearing some pumpkin earrings. Each one has a string of 3 orange outlined flat metal pumpkins. Got them several years ago, but rarely wear them. Also, wearing a long black beaded necklace. So long I have to wrap it around my neck twice. And, even then it hangs pretty low. Lower than it used to. (Yay! Thanks to losing so much weight!:iconheroamericaplz:) I don't wear it too often either. But, they go well for a Halloween theme.

We won't be handing out candy this year, either.:icontinoplz:We usually get a lot of trick-or-treaters, so this'll be interesting. I didn't put decorations up, and we'll leave the outside lights off. So, that will hopefully give them a sign of some sort. I bet we'll still have kids knocking on our door and ringing the doorbell. Especially the ones that come early. Those are the really little kids. Tomorrow we're hoping to catch the discounted candy at the stores.:iconenglandispervyplz:That'll be good. Most of the trick-or-treaters look so cute.:iconcuteamericaplz:But, that's ok if we pass on it this year. Won't terrorize the cats as much either.

I was also invited to a Halloween party on the 1st. It feels nice that they invited me, but they have it kind of late in the day and we might be out shopping for most of the day beforehand. I might be too tired, and I don't have a costume.:iconlietplz:Although, I know they said if you didn't have one you could just wear black. But, that would stand out a bit...:iconwtfromanoplz:

I usually try to watch some of the movie marathons that might be on TV, too. I think one station usually marathons the Twilight Zone, as well. They're always fun to watch. And, there are other movies we could watch on things like Netflix or Hulu. I love horror movies. Even the ones that are hilarious and meant to be spoofs of others. It's an interesting genre.:iconchibisitalyplz:

This also marks a week until my birthday.:party:I love celebrating my birthdays, but this one's also kind of a big one. I look at birthdays as a triumph of sorts. Might be because of what I've gone through. It's a miracle that I'm still here and able to celebrate another birthday.:iconchibiaustriaplz:That's kind of why I feel a bit odd when people hate celebrating their birthdays. I'm not sure if I'll ever understand that...Plus, it's a day for celebrating you.:iconfrancisplz:That's pretty cool. I still have people tell me that I look much younger than I am. (Some say I look like I'm in my mid-teens and have even asked me what grade I'm in.:iconwtfukplz:) It'd be cool if I looked closer to my actual age. Just a little closer. I didn't make a list this year, and I'm not sure where I want to go for it yet...:iconseychelles-plz:

Yesterday, I decided to call people to clear up 2 things.:iconberwaldplz:For the first one, my primary doctor is leaving soon and the one that they chose to switch me to, I've had before. I didn't like her at all. She didn't listen and was incredibly rude. She tried to take over my meds several months ago, even though I had a different doctor. I don't need someone like that.:iconhongkongplz:I'd prefer a female one. Simply because she might be able to understand where I'm coming from better. I did have one awesome male doctor, but he was the only one who actually listened. Apparently it's hard to find male doctors like that. So, I ended up with someone I haven't heard of before. There was only one other doctor as an option. So if I don't like her, there's only one more choice.:iconromanoplz:I've never heard of her either. I googled the name of the one I decided to try out first. Apparently she was up for the Washington State Best Doctor of the Year award recently. That sounds promising.

Another thing I wanted to clear up was very interesting and confusing at the same time.:iconusaplz:The clinic that my insurance referred me to for my minor surgery a couple of months ago, gave me a check of a sizable amount telling me that we overpaid. I first thought: "Wow! That's cool! It'll be helpful." Then a few days later we got a bill from them for that amount plus what looks like a copay amount. Seemed very fishy.:iconnataliaplz:So, after about an hour of going back and forth with that clinic and my insurance, we finally figured it out.:iconinsultedplz:Apparently, that amount on the check was supposed to pay something that they thought was paid for twice for some reason. Turned out that they made an error somewhere down the line. The customer service rep told me that they have 4 different programs they use for all of this, and that mixed it all up. Why do they need that many?! I could understand, at most, maybe 2. But, that sounds crazy. Anyways, she said I can write a note on the check saying to give it to her (she gave me her name) and mail it to them. It should be fixed that way. At least that parts figured out. I told her about the copay amount, and that I know that all of them were paid for already. She said to find it in the bank statement and mail it to them with the same message. That seems outrageous! Every time I deal with this clinic, they screw something up. And, they're so laid back about it. It pisses me off!:iconchibienglandplz:At least I got the nerve up to call and figure it out.

I also voted a few days ago. I was putting it off, because some of my friends seemed to be complaining on facebook about how difficult it seemed. I admit some of the wording was a bit confusing, but not as much as they made it out to be. The weird thing is there was a couple of initiatives that sounded awfully similar, but really had opposite meanings. One of those was for or against more gun regulations. Another was one, I think, on class sizes. There were a couple of candidates for judges that seemed to be hard to decide on. They were really close with their credentials and views, and seemed equally qualified.:iconhongkong-wantsursoul:Some candidates were easy to vote for, because they either were apart of a party I support or there was only one option. Now that I've voted, the ads on TV seem to be even more annoying.:icondisgusted-hongkong:I seem to be getting a lot of them through the mail too. Oh, and it's kind of cool that there's an app for the elections. I have it now, but apparently none of the ballots have been counted yet. So, the results are blank.:iconhanatamagoplz:
I decided that I didn't really like World Customize Creator, and tried out Dawn- Tsumetai Te in its place. Or, Dawn- Chilly Hands. It's been very interesting so far. It's a josei, and I'm not too used to that 'category' (haven't read too many of them at least), but it's good. Josei is intended for young adult (or in their early 20s) women on up. Seinen for young adult (same age group) men on up. Shoujo's for younger girls and shounen's for younger boys. A lot of the time these categories can blend, become blurry, or the creator doesn't wish it to be under any of them. I really don't like shoujo. Just the general 'style' isn't for me. There are a few rare ones that I do like, and they're not in the typical exaggerated shoujo style.:iconnorwayunimpressedplz:I mostly like shounen and seinen. Takashi Nagasawa's a high school student and is a member of the biology club. One day he gets bitten by one of the mice in the lab. He starts freaking out about what if he gets the Black Plague, since it was carried by rats and mice. The other members think he's crazy and just tell him to disinfect it. After school, during that same night while walking home, he hears a crash of some sort and goes to investigate. He finds out it was a car accident, and the driver's dead at the scene. What seems like out of nowhere, a rat that looks like it has a mutation of some kind, attacks and bites him. After calling the police about what happened, a strange doctor arrives and takes him to the hospital. He stays there for 2 weeks, but doesn't remember much. Apparently, he has contracted a disease called Nightshift. (They haven't said that yet from where I'm at in the story...) He starts changing after that, and everyone around him seems to get infected. At the part where I stopped, without thinking he beheaded someone with his bare hands that had a horrible case of it. His friends had just told him about a serial killer prowling about who beheads his victims. This seems like a very interesting story, and I love the horror genre. So, it's right up my alley.:iconawwwplz:

Also started reading Karneval for my Friday slot. It's interesting, but I'm unsure if I like it yet.:iconswissplz:I'll give it more of a try before I describe it more on here. I dropped World Embryo, because it seemed to be going really slow with the story. Also, it seemed to feel like it was getting 'stale' and tiring. It didn't have the 'it' factor anymore to keep people interested in it. It's a very interesting story though.

I've been keeping up with playing my clarinet everyday for the last week and a half. I feel like I'm really improving with it.:iconranranruuplz:Also, has a different feeling now. I might increase the practice time for some of the days at some point. My fingers feel a lot more flexible, making it easier to play as well.

Started writing the 12th short story to my nightmare anthology. This one's probably going to take a little more effort to make into a 'story', since it wasn't necessarily a dream.:iconchibiswedenplz:It's based on what my ears picked up one day. It freaked me out, but might have just been fluid moving through. I have issues with my Eustachian tubes and wax buildup. It gets so bad sometimes, I have to use a kit to 'clean' them out. Otherwise I have a hard time hearing, get dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, they feel like they're on fire or something pierced them, and other stuff. Sometimes even just changes in weather or the Barometric pressure affect them. I can hear extremely well once it's cleaned out. It's disgusting, but oddly interesting to me. I thought it was an interesting idea to use, and it'll be even more interesting to see how it turns out.

Naruto Shippuden is getting really interesting. I'm glad that there haven't been too many flashbacks or 'fillers' lately. Another thing that's interesting is the manga version of Naruto is ending this coming week. Apparently, it's been going for 15 years.:iconshockplz:If they had aged normally during that time the main characters would be older than me...15 years is quite a milestone. It's one of the longest running manga/anime. And it's been extremely popular for most of that time. I read some of the manga, but got tired of it since most of it was in the anime. It's a good series, except for when they go for months in the anime with filler episodes.:iconsighingplz:

National Nut Day!

Mood::iconeduardplz:

Yay for nuts!:iconyayhanatamagoplz:I like most nuts. My faves being walnuts, pecans, and cashews. There are very few out there that I can't stand. They're protein and fiber packed, so they're very nutritious.:iconchibiamericaplz:Although, they tend to be high in fat. So, when eaten in moderation, they're great.

It's been raining like crazy. Apparently it's mostly what the local news is talking about. I was hoping to watch the national news this morning, but the local one decided to cut into it for 30 minutes just to talk about the weather.:iconnataliaplz:Ok, we get it. It's raining heavily, and there have been accidents on the roads. Just tell people to be careful, and maybe tell them detours for the roads or something. Then, move on. It's not that hard. I know it hasn't rained for a while, but we're known for our rain...:iconusaplz:Maybe they're not used to it anymore. It's been pretty windy lately too, but that's kind of died down for today.

I'm really starting to like Senryokugai Sousakan. I think it had kind of a rough beginning. But, it's gotten much better. It's hilarious, yet it's starting to make you feel for the criminals more and more. Also, makes you wonder who the real 'bad' guys are. (In one of the episodes Chinami puts handcuffs on all the reporters that assumed someone was the criminal, and hounded him day and night for months without any evidence. Ruined his reputation.) In the episode I watched yesterday, Chinami and Kyosuke were suspended and told not to 'interfere' with investigations. So, they decided to go to a fan event to chaperon the kids from Kyosuke's dojo. They were just supposed to get signed posters for the kids, take them to a live performance, etc. But, one of the actors was stabbed to death, and they felt they had to investigate or at least start things since they were already there. They called some of the other detectives to run it 'officially'. The section chief was also suspended and went to the same event with his son. The person who was killed was a stuntman. The main actor can't do any of the athletic moves his character does, so he relies on the stunt doubles. There are 2 stunt doubles. The extra one was supposed to cover for the main one if something bad happened to him. It turned out that extra stuntman did it because he felt he should have been the main one. At the end, Chinami, Kyosuke, and the section chief were all reinstated. The head of the precinct really wants Chinami to succeed in her investigations, but for some reason the people ranked just below him want to ignore her. Or at least make her look bad.

Gugure has been awesome!:dummy:The humor is a lot like Gintama's. I just realized, a lot of what Kohina thinks or her outlook on life is how I used to be as a little kid. I never acted like a doll, but the other stuff was very similar. I thought I was the only one that was like that...:iconseychelles-plz:She's a very interesting character. Apparently she has a hard time smiling, and every time she tries or forces herself to, parts of her face move around. There was a time where she tried to do it while standing in front of a store's window, and she shattered it. Kokkuri's trying so hard to be her guardian and help her in being more 'human'. Coming from a fox spirit, that seems odd. (Apparently they made a promise when she was even younger. He's not sure if she remembers, though.) The dog spirit or Inugami has been hilarious. The dog died so early in its life it didn't know its 'gender'. (I use that kind of loosely, because I think they really meant sex.) So, Inugami switches between male and female all the time. Although, he tends to be male most of the time. He has a creepy stalkerish love for Kohina. Ever since she showed him kindness when he was living, he has been stalking her and only recently has decided to haunt her too. He hates Kokkuri with a passion. I like both of their spirit 'forms'. Kokkuri looks like a cute fluffy little fox, and Inugami looks like an emo purple dog. Just recently, a tanuki (raccoon dog) spirit showed up asking to haunt Kohina. Another strange guy. But, he looks much older.

Finished the 11th short story to my nightmare anthology, and started editing it. Colored in more of the drawings of my characters' outfits/accessories from my first novel, Alliance. I'm noticing that I don't have as wide a selection of colored pencils as I thought.:iconhanatamagoplz:I don't even have a regular brown color...But, it's still been interesting to look at them colored in. Almost like they're coming 'alive'. Finished editing the 2nd angry panel for Junko (also in Alliance) in the exaggerated expression meme. Started editing the last one of that section. This one is much funnier looking.:iconenglandispervyplz:It's supposed to be the extreme version of her being angry. Hard for me to imagine her that angry.

Hero wasn't as exciting this episode.:iconpolandplz:The previous ones were great. But, I guess they have to show examples of the seemingly smaller crimes. One was about a woman who decided to try narcotics after the yakuza told her to help them ship it. She's a flight attendant. She felt her job was so stressful that she needed something to take the edge off. The other case was about a father who just wanted to know what really happened to his son. The killer killed himself while he was in holding waiting to go to trial. But, he confessed the day of to one of the prosecutors. They couldn't do anything about it at the time. The killer had first told the police that it was an accident. The two were fighting, and suddenly one of them hit his head so hard he died. But, he later said that he really did kill him. After the father heard all this he felt a lot more relieved. He wasn't told much about the story, and the authorities were reluctant to tell him anything.

Donten ni Warau has gotten a bit more interesting. Started off really slow. I was reluctant to keep watching it.:iconkikuplz:But, the story just got a bit more intense. I hope they pick up the pace more, though. The middle brother, Soramaru, has decided to go undercover and infiltrate the prison to see who the prisoners are giving 'presents' to. He got himself into a bit of pickle, because he's already come face to face with that person. He can't remember a certain incident in his past, but gets flashbacks of parts of it. That's when he was strangled and still has the mark on his neck, but he doesn't know much else about it. He doesn't know who did it, why, what was he doing at the time, or even where he was. He gets a flashback as soon as he sees the person everyone's giving gifts to, and realizes the person who strangled him had the same mask on. Tenka, the oldest brother, had talked a lot about the Orochi vessel and sealing it. But, they didn't explain who this 'vessel' was or what Orochi was. (There are hints that it might be Sora or Tenka himself.) He was talking to Chuutarou's (the youngest brother) teacher, Botan, about it. She wants to kill the vessel, and he said that wasn't his style. Shirasu, a former ninja from a clan that was wiped out and is staying with the Kumo brothers (he helps with housework and is kind of like a bodyguard at times for when Tenka is gone), is suspicious of Botan.
Started reading World Customize Creator. The name is kind of lame, but the story so far has been interesting.:iconnorwayunimpressedplz:Tagami Yusuke, led by a mysterious voice, is summoned to another world called Caltsio. He was just a video gamer before, but fate made him become the 'Evil G-d of Calamity' of this world. He's obtained the ability to create and customize everything, just like in the game he was playing before he was 'summoned'. But, in that game you had to earn points in order to customize things. He had a hard time getting enough points, and was summoned just after he thought he'd try to cheat the game. So, I'm thinking he's still playing that game, but has been transported to the game world through it. He has 'unlimited' points now, though. A transparent game control panel comes up around his head occasionally, but characters in that world don't seem to see it. I know it's very similar to a lot of other trapped in game scenario mangas, but I'm giving this one a try nonetheless.

Played my clarinet. Did a lot of klezmer tunes. In fact, I'm almost finished with playing through that book again. Slipped up a few times, but wasn't too bad. In fact, I feel like I've been improving a lot since I've tried to get back into playing it more often.:iconchibisitalyplz:Although I've also remembered that the more often I play, the more often my head and one of my arms hurts.:iconlietplz:For some reason, occasionally I tend to get massive headaches halfway through playing, but push myself through it. Also, one arm gets this weird electro-shock pulsating feeling after playing more often as well. Maybe it'll ease up after a while.
日本語
Finished studying the last 2 common compounds for , and studied the kanji: . 加味 or かみ (kami): seasoning, flavoring; taking (something) into consideration, taking into account. 参加 or さんか (sanka): participation. When 果 is pronounced as 果たす or は.たす (ha.tasu): to accomplish, achieve, carry out, fulfill, realize, execute, perform, do; (suf) (after -ます [-masu] stem of a verb) to do...completely, to do...entirely. As 果て or は.て (ha.te): the end, the extremity, the limit(s), the result. Recent dA faves: Melody Sweets Catalog Commission: Keidan Kyuzazame I did not do these! The first and third ones are from artists I watch. The first one's a cool digital painting of 2 of the artist's original characters playing the cello and violin together. They look like they're really into it. That artist is one of the newer ones to my watch list. The second one is a fanart of a bunch of different characters from Hetalia with various sweets from those countries. Kind of cool. There was another similar piece a while back, but I don't think there were as many characters and it was by a different artist. The third one was a commission of a another artist's original character. He came out kind of cute. The artist who did the commission normally does things with flash and has done his own comic strip in the past. He has a very interesting and distinctive style. What drew me to him was really his video 'Draw With Me' on youtube. He's amazing, and a lot of people have praised him for his work. Especially that one. He did a sequel to that one that was very interesting too. In those vids, besides the background music, it's silent. It can be hard to do that kind of thing. The characters only communicate through writing and drawing on a transparent wall that separates them. The story is very interesting, and I hope he continues with it at some point.

Caramel Apple Day!

Mood::iconberwaldplz:

I love caramel apples!:iconfeelingfullplz:I rarely have them, though. Not sure if I had one last year. The only downside to them is how messy they can get. At our local markets they have many different kinds with stuff put on top of the caramel. Sometimes the plain ones are the best. It's also Celebration of the Mind Day. The mind's pretty amazing and fascinating. Interesting that it has a day devoted to it. Plus, it's also Reptile Awareness Day. I think they're greatly misunderstood, so it's good there's a day to educate people about them.:iconhongkongplz:Yesterday was Lung Health Day. It's good that there's a day for this as well. Lung health's very important. I've experienced some issues in the past with mine, and it only makes you appreciate them all the more when they're back to being healthy.:iconthailandplz:

It's been abnormally warm for this time of year. I think I remember hearing that it's like 10 degrees warmer than average. I kind of want the cool fall weather I like so much. It's been pouring rain off and on, too. That's probably normal for us during this time of year, though.:iconhanatamagoplz:

On Sunday, we grabbed my contacts that came in at the mall. Apparently both eyes have the same prescription now. It's bizarre.:iconseychelles-plz:They were really surprised by how much my right eye has changed. At least I don't have to tell the difference between the boxes. Like which one is for my right or left eye.

After that we went to Fuego. That place is pretty cool and has some hilarious stuff.:iconheroamericaplz:Always have liked going there. They always have special deals on jewelry. Last time I got some really long gold square ones with a fancy pattern on the inside of each square. (They're almost as long as my hair now. That's saying a lot...:iconusaplz:) They jingle a lot when I move my head. Haven't worn them that often, but they're fun. This time I wanted something unicorn related. Unicorns have a lot of meaning for me.:iconchibiaustriaplz:I used to hate unicorns, but now that there's so much meaning to them for me it's a different story. I found some silver unicorn earrings. The manes are pretty detailed, as well as the musculature. The horns look kind of stubby, but that's ok. They're pretty big too. So, at least they're noticeable. And, with the deal it went from almost $7 to almost $2. Pretty good deal.:iconeestiplz:

After that we went to a local breakfast place for dinner. I got their caramel apple French toast with scrambled eggs and apple chicken sausage. It was like heaven!:iconinloveplz:They had a pumpkin spiced latte as their seasonal drink. I decided to get that too. It was so good!:iconchibispainplz:All of that made for an amazing brunch the next day, too. At Safeway they have pumpkin spiced lattes in packets. So, I can make my own. I decided to get some of that too. I'm normally not into coffee type drinks, but this is really good stuff. Plus, I love when pumpkin is added to things in general.:iconawwwplz:

Wrote more of the 11th short story in my nightmare anthology. I now have a clear idea of how I want it to go at least. Almost done with it, if I follow that idea. Then I can start the 12th, and probably last, one. Yay!:iconranranruuplz:This current one's pretty gruesome. So that might be why I had somewhat of a hard time. Might be the most gruesome at that.

Played my clarinet. Did a lot of Irish tunes. Only fumbled a few times this time. I've actually been playing more often now, and I can tell I'm improving pretty quickly. It feels good.
日本語
Studied the kanji: . The hiragana 'letter' (ka) is a descendant of this kanji. Kind of cool. Pronounced as (ka): addition, increase; (abbr) Canada (long version is: 加奈陀 or かなだ [kanada]). As 加える or くわ.える (kuwa.eru): to add, add up, sum up, append, annex; to increase, gather (e.g. speed), pick up; to include, count in, let join; to inflict (damage), deal, give. As 加わる or くわ.わる (kuwa.waru): to be added to, be appended; to join in (e.g. a group of friends), participate; to increase (e.g. heat), gain in (e.g. influence), grow, gather (speed); to be subject to (e.g. pressure). 加虐 or かぎゃく (kagyaku): causing pain, sadism, sadistic. 加減 or かげん (kagen): addition and subtraction; allowance for; degree, extent, measure; condition, state of health; seasoning, flavor, moderation, adjustment; influence (of the weather); chance. 加護 or かご (kago): divine protection, bless. 加工 or かこう (kakou): manufacturing, processing, treatment. 加算 or かさん (kasan): addition, adding, supplement. 加勢 or かせい (kasei): assistance, backing, reinforcements. 加点 or かてん (katen): addition of points, scoring. 加熱 or かねつ (kanetsu): heating, application of heat. 加筆 or かひつ (kahitsu): correction, improvement, revision.

Practiced a bit on JapaneseClass' site. Did pretty well. Made it into the top 20 ranking for the day. Apparently I was doing so well that they threw in a lot of new words/kanji/phrases.:iconchibisitalyplz:I only get that when I get most of the 'old' ones right.

There was another new Japanese commercial compilation vid on youtube. I love looking at those.:iconchibihungaryplz:They're usually biweekly, but sometimes the person who's behind the channel makes a bonus in between one. A vid full of the ones that they feel are the most bizarre and/or cool. This was one of those weeks. They're not subbed, so it gives me a chance to figure it out on my own. I get what they're saying most of the time. The only problem is when they speak super quickly, and sometimes when it's really slow. A lot of them were even more bizarre knowing what they were saying or what they were selling.:iconkikuplz:

Wrote out more of that section of the You Maga article from last time. A lot of the kanji I knew without having to check them online. It was an interesting feeling. A lot of the ones I didn't know were either ones people learn at a higher grade level than what I'm currently at or weren't used that often. Not bad. The kanji for vomit is interesting and makes sense...:iconlietplz:I also did some sentence practice.

Found a lot of interesting possible manga to read. It'll be nice to read some new ones.:iconfinallyplz:Finished Anagle Mole recently, so that freed up a spot for another one. Anagle Mole was awesome!:iconfrancisplz:Didn't really have an ending. It felt like they ended it with the possibility of a sequel of some sort. At least, what they made you believe until the last chapter wasn't true. (Trying to say it without spoiling too much.) So, that was a good thing. It seemed like a unique and interesting story. It'd be cool if they made it into an anime.:iconsleepygreeceplz:I'm thinking of dropping World Embryo. It's gotten kind of tiring. Things have been a bit slow for a while, too. It has a very interesting story too.
Watched the 2nd Gintama movie called Gintama: Kanketsu-hen - Yorozuya yo Eien or Gintama (Silver Soul): The Final Chapter- Be Forever Yorozuya (Odd Jobs), Friday night. It was freaking awesome and epic!:iconlachoirplz:I definitely would recommend this to almost anyone. (Would not be good for little kids. Probably people in their late teens on would be best...) Even if anime's not your thing, it's worth it. The animation was great! Just like the anime, one minute you're laughing like crazy, and the next you're bawling your eyes out. Great fight scenes, and they managed to pile on the drama as well. I remember reading that this one was a totally original story that wasn't in the manga. All of the voice actors were amazing, too. Just like they were in the show. This was supposed to be Gintama's last hurrah. But, you never know with them, if they're coming back or not. But, it was certainly an amazing way to end it. With the show, it only got better and better with each episode. So, you can almost imagine how great it was after more than 250 episodes. By the way, you don't have to have watched the show in order to understand or get into the movie. But, it might hook you.
