Wow! It doesn't feel like a day for strawberry shortcakes. Maybe for the rest of the country. (Who are having record highs.
) It's kind of a summery treat. It's about 55 degrees right now, and rainy. So not what it's supposed to be.
But, I love strawberry shortcake. It's also Flag Day, World Blood Donor Day, and Family History Day.
Had the weirdest dreams last night. They were trippy, scary, surreal, and gory.
One of them probably could be a really crazy movie. Complete with some sort of 'monster' (maybe a T-rex), weird fights (a lot of them where I didn't do much
), dorm halls that were like the inside of an air duct (very tight and square), a huge wide conveyor belt thing (like they have at airports, only without rails on the sides), running away from said 'monster' and people not really noticing and getting trampled, weird stuff on a train (not even getting into that one...), killing 'monster' by ramming train and I think some sort of explosives into it, and it just kept going. Another, somebody was brutally torturing someone, and at one point you'd think the person would have died. But, they kept coming back to life. Another, someone kidnapped me. What was going on with me last night?!
Although, it's been a while since I've actually had a full night's sleep, so that was really nice. Still...
Scheduled my pre-hearing meeting with my lawyer. It's at the end of August. Made one of my scrambles last night for dinner, since Dad was gone. It had 2 different cheeses, eggs, sweet peppers, dried onions, carrots, dill, and garlic. Another good one.
Made a Mexican meatball soup tonight. It was very good. Pic looks a little blurry. Hopefully, I can fix it tomorrow.
Finished watching Hanayome wa Yakudoshi or the Pretend Bride. It had a really nice ending. I'll miss the Azuchi family.
They all really grew on me over time. Ichiro and Akiko actually did get married in the end. I thought they were going to kill off the mother, Yukie, in the last 2 episodes.
I'm glad they didn't. They managed to have the main part of the wedding at the hospital she was staying at. Akiko refused to get married without Yukie being there for them. It was very touching. It was hilarious how everytime Ichiro wants to kiss Akiko, something comes up. Kaori became a good rival for her. And, now they compete to see who grew the best peaches every year. 3 years after getting married, Ichiro quit his job in Tokyo and decided to finally go back to the farm. Right when he showed up, they find out Akiko's pregnant and rush her to the hospital. Last scene is Ichiro chasing after Yukie and Akiko in a car headed to the hospital. I like how those 2 get along well now. Almost making fun of each other.
Finished Oishii Proposal yesterday. Had a horrible and strange ending.
I loved the series up until then. It just didn't make sense. Oh well. It's the worst ending I've seen in a while.
The next bunch of dramas I might watch look very promising.
A lot of them are really popular, have high reviews, and interesting sounding plots. The next new shows I might watch are: Honey and Clover, Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend), Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers. I've watched some of the anime, but didn't like the art style. Maybe it'll be different this way?
), and Coffee Prince (a Korean drama. I'm very curious about this one.). So, interesting lineup.
Since the next chapter of Afterschool Charisma isn't up yet, I started another manga. This one's Saijou no Meii or The Best Skilled Surgeon. It's really interesting and funny so far. Saijou Mikoto was born with a bad heart. It was thanks to the incredible skills of the leading Japanese pediatric heart surgeon, Shindou Mamoru, that he survived into adolescence. He looks up to him and has vowed to become the best pediatric surgeon the world has ever known, to show his gratitude. Interesting that it was by the same mangaka that did Yakitate! Japan. I've only seen the anime of that, but I liked the humor and plot. So, maybe this will be just as good, if not better.

This was a cute raccoon that we saw at Bloedel Reserve. Didn't seem afraid of us. Just going about his business cleaning and eating. Almost done with the comic essay in You Maga. Funny take on what it's like for older women looking for a wedding dress. Still editing Tzvi in Photoshop. He needed a lot of cleanup. I was having issues with trying to figure out his hair for a while. So, there's lots of smudges around that and his eyes. It's looking much better, though. I thought he was too far gone to work on.
But, I was wrong. Photoshop's awesome that way.
deviantART fave: Sweet Halloween Dreams I did not make this! A really awesomely done drawing. It was featured on Facebook. Kind of creepy, yet cute. And, very detailed.

Yay for macaroons!
They're one of the few things I can tolerate coconut flakes in. There's many different flavors, and it's popular around the world. I like the chocolate ones the most.
They were created in an Italian monastery in 1792.
It's been cold and rainy today. Funny, because I actually feel good.
Weather doesn't match my mood. We had hamburgers and grilled corn on the cob. Good stuff!
I personally like to cut the kernels off, and eat them in big chunks. Still tastes good, and I don't get too much stuff stuck between my teeth.
We also roasted marshmallows over the stove. I love setting mine on fire.
And, then when it gets nice and crispy on the outside, yet gooey still in the middle. It was awesome!
But, I burned my lips. Badly enough I needed to put something like Blistex on them.
Don't know what I'll make tonight yet.
Someone I knew from high school found and friended me on FB. Kind of nice.
Watched Hanayome wa Yakudoshi. I feel sorry for Ichiro.
He confesses his feelings to Akiko, and she tells him that she doesn't feel anything for him. Which isn't true. She loves him too. Not only that, but Mettv made a mockery of his family. But, Akiko found out that the tapes still haven't been aired, and took them. Jiro and Momoko have already forgiven Akiko. At the end of the episode, she rushes over to help the family protect their peaches from a typhoon that's rolling in. Yukie still doesn't forgive her, and she was told before to never set foot on the farm again. So, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Worked more on the comic essay in You Maga. It's kind of a fun one to do. Read a bit of Dune. Paul's sounding kind of creepy at the moment.
In Gosick, even though Victorique was sick with a cold at home, she managed to help solve the case. Kujo did most of the work, though. I have a feeling he probably would have been smart enough to figure it out on his own. But, the detective didn't entire believe him, and he trusts his sister. They saved all the kids from being auctioned off, and found the stolen jewelry. Kujo bought a glass slipper as a souvenir for Victorique. She's apparently using as a pipe holder. I'm starting to really like this series. I think it was just testing the waters with people at first. It seemed weak at the beginning. Now, it's like they're getting the hang of it. I realized it's still an ongoing series, so that should be interesting.

In Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Rin takes the class on a tour of Poower Spots. Spots that are depressing and energy draining just stepping foot in. (Poower came from Poor Luck.) Spots like a vending machine with an empty display. The cell phone shop that fits in a surprisingly narrow space. Bench under a streetlight flickering. They decide sensei himself is a mobile Poower Spot. He makes everyone depressed and have poor luck around him. Eventually, Kafuka decides that if she throws enough negative people into a pit, they'll be turned into positive energy spots. She says, after all 2 negatives equal a positive. She pushes most of the class in a pit. They come out energized and happy looking. The area had warning signs around it, because there's laughing gas emitting from the pit. She's so demented.
deviantART faves: Strawberry Gateau Time Hi Panda China and Hong Kong Teacup Kitties Yotsubato First, an awesome pic of an amazing looking strawberry cake. Second, a funny comic with China and Hong Kong from Hetalia. Third, cute drawings of kittens in teacups. This is the same artist I watch, who did the truffle bunnies as a countdown for Chinese New Year's. I like most of their stuff. Fourth, a really warm drawing of Yotsuba and her father by someone I watch. I loved that manga. Too bad it seems to be hard to find, and there's not much of a fan base over here.

Yay for puppies!
The founder, Colleen Paige, also created National Dog Day and National Cat Day. It's put up by her Animal Miracle Foundation and Network. Which is a non-profit organization that offers financial assistance and educational programs. They also try to get local shelter animals adopted on these holidays, and various other events throughout the year. Kind of nice.
It's getting warmer and sunnier.
It almost feels like it's too bright outside. But, it's better than dreary grey skies. I had more of those weird leg pains on Monday, and slept in. Then, my computer was really slow.
(Usually it does that when there's updates and such.) So, I didn't really have time to post Monday. Then, I was out all day yesterday. Again, not much time to post, either.
I went with my mom to her appointments for a test at a hospital yesterday. I thought I wouldn't have enough things to do, and be absolutely bored. But, oddly, I barely got through half the list of the things I wanted to work on.
We went to a really good Greek restaurant called 'It's Greek To Me' for lunch. We both got Gyros and drinks. The special is to have them with fries. But, the Gyro was so huge, I don't think I would have been able to down the fries as well.
It was full of layers of meat, and some salad, and a huge thing of tzatziki sauce on top. All in a very good pita. It was so big, I couldn't pick it up like you normally would. Had to use a knife and fork through most of it. Crazy! But, it was all very tasty!
I worked on the You Maga article while I was waiting yesterday. Managed to remember most of the words, without looking them up. Although, there was one kanji that really got to me. I've seen it with other kanji and it has a different meaning with each one. I haven't seen it by itself before, so I spent a while trying to figure it out.
Guess I'll look that up later.
Read part of the first chapter of my story, Alliance, again while I was waiting. Actually, found a couple of mistakes. Weird, since that's the chapter I've re-read the most. But, nice catch, I guess.
I also realized I didn't print out a hard copy of chapter 12 yet. I usually print out each chapter when I'm done with them, and put them together. It's becoming a pretty heavy thick book with that alone. Still not enough words/pages to publish the story as a novel yet.
I'm hoping for this to be a series, so I'll probably leave this first book on a big cliff hanger. It helps me edit the whole thing, and it's nice to have a hard copy version.
Worked on some crossword puzzles, too. It's been a long time since I've done them. So, that was nice. Also, read the rest of the last (or second to last) issue of Hadassah. It's about time! The next one is probably coming out soon.
When I got home, I also started a search term list for when I look for recipes. Sometimes, when I search for them, I forget what type of things I'd like to make.
So, this would be very useful. Also, will probably come up with a list for what music I'd like. So, fun fun!
I feel like I was very productive yesterday.
Even though I was gone. I also edited the lists to the right hand side. Will make it easier to read, and they're in a better order.
Finished watching Psychic Detective Yakumo yesterday when I got home. Had a very good ending. But, still left it wide open for a 2nd season. I really liked this anime, so I'm hoping they will make one. Yakumo's father's 'ghost' is still roaming free and will probably use more people to get at Yakumo. He thinks if he gets Yakumo angry enough, he can take over his body. And, finally, feel 'alive' again. Disturbing.
And, supposedly Nanase killed herself. But, they never found the body. And, if she did die, what would she be like if she came back as a ghost? Also, Yakumo and Haruka grew closer during this whole ordeal. Gotou is going to take custody of Nao. And, it seemed like she's working on talking. (She's mute, I think because of some sort of trauma.) Could be wrong. It was a very interesting and suspenseful series.
I had my psychiatrist's appointment on Monday. Everytime I go, it ends up being at most 10 minutes. She talks fast.
I have to get my annual liver and kidney check sometime within the next month and a half. Nothing's wrong with them, it's just a check to make sure things are ok.
The med I'm taking can affect the liver and kidneys. Even if you've been fine after years of taking it, it can still cause problems. I'm a bit reluctant to get a blood test, but it's to make sure I'm still healthy.
Started another drama on Monday called Oishii Proposal, or Tasty Proposal. It's been hilarious so far! Suzuko's a strong-minded woman who's a chef at an Italian restaurant. She 'bumps' into Haruki, a celebrity businessman, after he accidentally scratches her car at a restaurant. Later, they meet again at her restaurant. He tells everyone who works there that he's the owner of the company who took over the restaurant. And, since there hasn't been much profit, he wants to fire everyone and remodel the place. Suzuko and Haruki make a deal that if she can impress him and a 'special' guest that her food is on par with a 3-star restaurant, he won't fire them. Well, she ends up impressing them, and he keeps the deal. He's kind of a jerk so far. But, I think he's also a bit naive. Liking the story, too.

Started another one yesterday called Hanayome wa Yakudoshi, or The Pretend Bride. Another hilarious one. I like that I'm finding so many promising looking comedies for the week. Akiko is 32, or in her what she considers an 'unlucky year'. She's a news announcer. She lost her position to a rookie announcer. She's assigned to go undercover and experience life as a farmer's bride for a variety show. If she doesn't do it, she'll have to work as a janitor. She bumps into her ex-boyfriend from college, Ichiro, and asks him if she can pretend to be his fiancée. He reluctantly agrees to it. And, she heads out to his family's farm to meet them. (They're a peach farm.) She's supposed to stay there for 3 months. The family members all have their own quirks. One is obsessed with Tokyo and saving money to go there. Another is poor, and when things get to him he plays his trumpet instead of complaining. Another is convinced that Ichiro wants to take over the family farm, and Akiko is just playing him to get a piece of the land. She's obsessed with the farm and seems like she's planning on murdering Ichiro. His mother seems weirdest of all. She's the head of the family, and is extremely strict, cold, and judgmental. She seems a bit scary. This series looks like it will be another fave.
deviantART faves: Liechtenstein- Cup Collab APH: Cup Collab Aruu I did not make these! These 2 are for the Hetalia version of the cup collab. First, it's Liechtenstein in a cup of Triesner Federweiss. Looked it up, and it's a wine made in Liechtenstein, and is popular there. It's cute. Second, China in green tea. Also, cute. He's floating on the teabag. Funny that they put Shinatty in there.
