By W&Whale. This song's funny, upbeat, and motivating. I love Whale's voice! It showcases it well. The video's hilarious, too. Very creative. Kind of like a video game.
It's been a cloudy and nasty looking out lately. Although, today it's slightly warmer. Yay!Had a rough night Monday night, and so I got up late. Didn't have much time to post. Got up late today, because Rosie was yelling at me throughout most of the night. But, it sounded like she didn't attack Tasha. So that's good. We saw Tasha come out of her 'hole' for a bit last night. She slowly checked her food and water bowls, sat for a minute, and slowly went upstairs. That's quite an improvement, I think.Usually, she's hiding because she's too scared of the other one attacking.
Yay! I've started cooking from those recipes I listed from our cookbooks!Made the bottom dish Monday night, and the top last night. Monday's was a Sephardic dish from Rhodes called Baked Fish in Tomato Sauce. (Sephardic- Jews from the Mediterranean/Spain/parts of Africa/South America.) It's more like an onion 'sauce', than tomato.Next time, I'll put more tomatoes in and not as many onions as they say.I served it on top of Israeli couscous and made a salad as a side. It was pretty good. The one from last night was an Italian dish called Minestra Di Pasta All'Uovo E Piselli, or Pasta and Pea Soup. Mom helped make the garlic bread on the side. It was good and fresh tasting.Just needed something like a little garlic. I added parmesan to my bowl after I took the pic. It was optional, and they said to have it on the side, so people can put as much as they want in. Perfect for Dad, since she hates cheese. But, it did make it even more flavorful.
I also looked at our Mexican cookbooks. Added a lot more recipes to my list than I thought I would.Found a couple of drink recipes. (Obviously, non-alcoholic.) A walnut nut soup that sounds awesome!Mexican Rice, which I think I've made before. It's really good. Also found a really good looking dessert. There were a few other great things on my list, too. Then, I looked at our Spanish cookbooks. The other day, I thought we had a lot more than we did.Oh well. Found a Gazpacho, a potato soup, and another dessert recipe that are peaches baked in red wine. There's a couple more on the list for that, as well. Today, I'm hoping to go through our German cookbooks. Then, it will be our Russian ones tomorrow. Kind of exciting! It'll feel like we're visiting these countries/regions for a night. I'm thinking of also finding out what they usually drink with their meals, and having traditional music in the background. I hope I continue this cooking 'itch' I have. I'm starting to have a lot of fun with it.
I'll have to take a break from cooking tonight. We're going to a Hadassah meeting. They'll have a Pampered Chef thing as the 'event'. Don't have to bring any food, because they'll be making food for us. We just need to give them $2.
Started an anime called Gosick. It's still airing, so it's pretty new. I'm liking it so far. Seems a bit 'unique'.It takes place in 1924 in a small, French-speaking fictional European country called Sauville. The story centers on Kujo, an exchange student from Japan who transfers to a school called St Marguerite Academy. Urban legends and horror stories are very popular there. There he meets Victorica, a mysterious yet beautiful and brilliant girl. She never goes to class, and spends her days reading all the books at the library or solving mysteries that even detectives can't solve. I like the premise, too. It's got plenty of humor, quirky characters, and it's a mystery anime. That alone's a win for me.
deviantART faves: 30 Days Challenge Meme StupidFox- 44 Cup Collab: England +Reminder I did not make these! First, a very interesting meme. And, I can tell it would help me improve my drawing skills. Not sure if I can do it for 30 straight days. That is finish a drawing everyday. But, I might try it eventually. Second, another funny installment of StupidFox. Another one for the Hetalia cup collab version. This one has England in Earl Grey tea. I think it's pretty well done.

Something on a Stick Day!
Mood:
What a funny sounding holiday. But, there's a ton of awesome food that comes on a stick. There's kebabs, corn dogs, fish, yakitori, popsicles, caramel apples, and many more tasty things. When I have something on a skewer, I always feel like I'm going to impale myself. But, it is a handy way to eat things. It's also Black Forest Cake Day. I love black forest cake! Haven't had it in a long time.
It's been grey and cloudy today. Not as warm either. Hope it gets sunny again soon.Finished looking at our Japanese cookbooks, and added a lot of recipes to my list. Some are things like an awesome sounding salad dressing. That would add a little pizazz. There's a Japanese dessert I've wanted to make for a while called Snow White Jelly. Looks really tasty. There's also a corn soup; and stuffed salmon. It's stuffed with something similar to a potato salad. Sounds good just reading about it. I'll look at the Mexican cookbooks today. Tomorrow I'll look at our Spanish cookbooks. Which, just glancing at it, looks like we have more of those than our Mexican ones. Interesting. I know they're not the same type of cuisine (although, they have many things in common), but I thought we'd have more Mexican recipes.
I'm really liking Oishii Proposal. It seems to be getting better every time I watch it.Suzuko's invited to Haruki's fancy party. He picks out and buys a dress and shoes for her. After that, she gets a hair and makeup makeover. She gets to have a glimpse at what his life is like. She gets angry at him after the party, when he tells her that she was only there to taste-test the food. And, tries to walk all the way to Tokyo in high heels and a dress with straps. He searches for her all night, and finds her at a bus stop in the morning. Still refusing to get in the car, she gets on the bus barefoot. He gets on, throws his jacket over her, and leaves. Kind of a funny, yet memorable scene.
Worked more on that You Maga article about my horoscope. Then, actually got to reading Dune!I'm still off and on about it. Although, it's getting more interesting. Also, filled out more info on one of my characters. It's been fun, and helps me develop the characters to my story more. Worked a little more on my building descriptions too. It's been helping me get a better picture of them in my head. Hoping at some point to draw them out.
I'm finally done with my 1st full sheet of character faces!Might have to go over one character again, just to correct his hair. (It's been driving me crazy!) Then, I'll work on them in Photoshop. I'm not going to ink them. They're more like sketches. I think I'll do what I planned before: post each character's face individually, putting the description either in the author's comments or in some blank space on the drawing itself with the help of Photoshop. I'll have to remember to either write in my signature, or sign it using small font in Photoshop. After that, I'll post the whole sheet, so people can see them together.
Played a little of the Sims 2. Just noticed that you can change the roof styles. So, I played around with that. It's funny, I'm still finding 'new' things in the game.
deviantART fave: Rainy Day Bento I did not make this! Kind of an interesting looking bento.

This is the 2011 trailer for Gintama. Gintama's finally starting up again a week from today. (It's been a little over a year since it went on hiatus.) Can't wait! Looks just about as funny and crazy as before, maybe it will be more so:

Pecan Day!
Mood:
Well, it was on Friday. Pecans are one of my favorite nuts! So, yay! They have their own day! Apparently it's the only nut indigenous to North America. The holiday was created in 1775. It marked the day George Washington planted pecan trees at Mount Vernon. The Native Americans were the first to cultivate it, long before this date. I love pecan pie, and that's probably a perfect way to celebrate. But, my dad doesn't care for it. Thinks it's too sweet. So, it probably wouldn't have been good as a Shabbat dessert. Instead, we got a frosted almond ring. To me, almond rings are really plain, and I'm not enthusiastic about them. But, it's something sweet, so why not?
It's been gorgeous out most of the weekend. Perfect weather, and very sunny. I didn't have much time to post Friday. I started to, but then we needed to go to the grocery store, and it just got later and later. Before I knew it, it was 10 at night, and I'm not posting that late.Oh well.
Put a comment up on Today's Menu for Everyone for the Sauteed Chicken in Onion Sauce recipe. It added the recipe to my collection, added it to my 'comment' box, added recommendations based on that recipe, and added my username to the list of people on that recipe's page who have made it. Very interesting. All I said was it was delicious in Japanese. Doubt anyone will look at my page after that, but I thought I should say something. Also, noticed that recipe ranked 2nd in the popular recipes for the week. Nice.
Posted another pic on dA: Buildings in the Distance I kind of like this one. And, the rose was an interesting touch.I didn't know it was there when I took the pic. That new oc group I joined on dA, had let my first submission expire without denying or accepting it. So, I submitted another piece, thinking maybe they just didn't have enough admins. They accepted that one, and requested another from me. It's awesome how quick they ok'd this one, and that they asked for another one relating to that same original character. Yay!I've only had a group 'request' something one other time. Makes me happy.
Edited parts of Alliance. Noticed I forgot about a character or I think I was going to make her leave at some point. I'm not sure. The story will change slightly, but maybe it will be even better. I don't quite like this character, but she's important.
In Hetalia (manga), Hungary's introduced while she was apart of the Holy Roman Empire 'household'.She was the one who dressed up Italy when he was younger. Made him wear dresses. Some people would pick on him, others were confused and assumed he was a girl. Then, a young China meets Japan as a little kid. Talked about how the Japanese language came about. China wanted him to just use Kanji, but he came up with Hiragana instead. There was a brief appearance of a Tibet character. I don't think he's in the anime yet. The pic's of Estonia. Just got to the part when they introduce more of the Baltic nations.
Worked more on the You Maga article about my horoscope for the year. They said it will be a stressful year. The big things, like marriage, getting a job, etc., will be easy. But, the little things will slowly accumulate a massive amount of stress. Yay!
I started Shinryaku! Ika Musume. Or: Invasion! Squid Girl. It's hilarious! A squid girl has come to the surface to invade and conquer humanity for polluting the ocean. The first place she 'invades' and tries to make her base of operations is a small restaurant called the Lemon Beach House. She accidentally breaks a hole in their wall, and is forced to work as a waitress to pay off the damages. When she's cold or scared, she pukes black ink. Apparently, they start using it for their black ink spaghetti. And, it sells like hotcakes. Hopefully it will keep the humor up.
Went through some of our cookbooks, and wrote down what I might make. I'm looking at the cuisines on my list, and going through what we have already in our cookbooks. Then, I'll move on to online recipes. So far, I have a few Jewish and Italian recipes down. In most of these books, I only like a couple of recipes. (Some have recipes I have no interest in.) So, if I go through them and make a list of ones that interest me, it'll be easier to pick.Next, I'll look through our Japanese cookbooks. We have a lot, so there might be more of a selection. Found a few interesting dessert recipes, too. One, from a Jewish cookbook, is for apple pudding. There's a French version where you make like a crust on top, partially made with Challah. Mom says it sounds like a bread pudding that way. Sounds tasty. This should be a lot of fun!
Didn't go to services this time. Mom didn't feel well. I had a horrible headache.Rosie's meowing just after I went back to bed, didn't help. Hopefully next week we can go.
Later, we went out shopping. I got some mascara. I haven't used mascara since they told me not to when I got my contacts. I was a little nervous about it before. It should be nice to get back into wearing it. This one's water resistant (so it won't run if I cry), and safe to wear with contacts. My make up feels a little bland lately, so it will be nice to give it an extra boost.
Later, we went to Hakata. I love their food! The waitresses are bit strange, but the food is great. I got my fave, the chickenteridon and fried ice cream for dessert. There was a little misunderstanding with one of the people waiting on us. I went back and told her to not put onions in mine. Now that I remember, she did eventually say no onions on your chicken, ok. So, there shouldn't have been a problem. The guy who was waiting on us, said something like no onions for your miso soup. And, had thought no onions for all of us. Kind of funny. Eventually, everything came out the way we wanted it to. But, it was a bit bizarre.
