I can't believe tonight's the last night!This is my wallpaper for the month. I know, it's a little late.It has China from Hetalia. I also got all the month long holidays: World AIDS Month, National Tie Month, Quince and Watermelon Month, Root Vegetables and Exotic Fruits Month, Tomato and Winter Squash Month, and Universal Human Rights Month. Interesting, apparently it's a very vegetable/fruity month.A month for ties? The other 2 are cool, and are great causes.
Last night, someone called us at around 1:45AM. Who calls that early?!Anyways, they didn't answer or leave a message. Then, a little later, there was an extremely loud car in front of our house. Later still, there was a loud thunderous storm. Wahoo!
I made some of the Korean rice porridge we got at Uwajimaya, for breakfast. It was so good!I thought I was going to hate it. There was lots of garlic, tiny onions, leeks, tiny bits of mushrooms, carrots, and you could still see the rice. (I hate mushrooms, but if they're tiny enough or it's like just the flavor, I'll eat them. Only saw one big one.) I think I'll see if there's any of the same type of rice porridge at our market. I hope so.
I finished watching Ghost Friends. I liked most of this episode until the very end. Something about it seemed off or weak.I don't think they needed to fast forward to 10 years later. I understood fast forwarding to when she gets into college. She loses almost all her close friends. Of course, all of them were ghosts and they 'crossed over', but it was a little sad. I loved the series as a whole. Although, not as much as the other shows.I think I'm going to watch the last episode of Bloody Monday. Then, next week, I'll start the second season of that. I'm glad they continue it. I just hope it's just as good.
Tonight, there's a Hadassah Hanukkah party. That should be fun. And, we get to eat more latkes!Plus, other great food at the potluck. I'm hoping I'll finally get a chance to play some dreidel.Although, I saw that they're going to do some Mahj. So, we'll see. I also now have plane tickets to and from NYC. So, all that's left, is telling them that I need one of those free phones. So, I can call people while I'm in Israel. Then, it's just packing, getting info, seeing the group's page on FB, etc.
People actually need to be told this?And for just one day? Sounds kind of sad, but at least people will remember to do it. Yesterday was also World Teachers Day. They deserve a lot of credit, and at least one day.So, good for them that they get at least a little recognition! Today's Mad Hatter Day! I'm not very into hats, although I'm trying to get more interested. Maybe I should found a funky one. It's been pretty cold, yet sunny, today.Started to get cold enough, it was time to put my fan and sandals away. Kind of sad.It took me a while to fall asleep last night, because I just couldn't get warm.Then, once I was, I didn't want to get up. Go me!So, I got up a bit late. I guess it was ok, since I got up early (by accident) a couple of days ago.
Kesher finally put the second application up, for Birthright Israel.I didn't have a problem with it until I got to the health insurance questions. So, I stopped there, because I need to make sure I have the right info.I gave them 8 different trip preferences. Just so I have a higher chance of going. They were all the ones for the 22-26 year old age group. They told me on the Birthright site that there might be groups leaving from LA to Israel. But, now it's just through either Philly or NYC.I'd rather go through NYC. But, it's much further for me. LA would have been so much easier. It seems with big organizations, they only think of the east coast.Seatac would have been even better. And, it's a huge international airport. I know Kesher has a site/office in Seattle. So, it doesn't make sense to me.Oh well. Supposedly, during the next week and a half, they're going to offer a trip from the selection. So, we'll know our status by then. If I'm reading it correctly. They're starting the phone interviews now. And, they say it may take several weeks to get around to everyone. I'm a little nervous about it, though. I know I probably shouldn't be, but I am.
I watched Ghost Friends on Monday, and Untouchable yesterday. Both are pretty good so far. And, Untouchable's getting really intense.I like the way the storyline's going.
We went to Costco last night!I haven't been in a while. I'm still surprised at how much stuff I like there. I used to hate the place.Some of the stuff we find can last us for at least 3 months. They're good deals, and pretty good quality. We had their polish hot dogs and shared a berry sundae for dinner. It was really good.Got more hummus, teriyaki chicken bowls, lots of bagels, a huge crate of oranges, huge thing of chicken breasts, some sesame BBQ beef short ribs, Panko breaded tilapia (It lasts for a few meals), huge bags of frozen peas and corn, huge thing of green beans, those really good tortilla chips, and a lot more. (That's just off the top of my head.)
The only problem was they didn't have any usable scooter things.One was 'out of order' and the other 2 were in use.She can't be on her feet for too long. Eventually, we got a wheelchair for her. Only it was very awkward.She would steer the cart, and I'd push both her and the cart. Just a workout going down a couple of aisles like that. (Especially, when the cart started to get heavy.) For part of it, we decided to leave the cart somewhere, and I'd wheel her around. When we found something, I'd run back to the cart and back to her. So, it was still a workout, but not as awkward. By the time we got to the checkout, I was really wiped out.But, I still had to put the stuff on the belt. The cashier was extremely rude to my mom, when she told her how upset she was about how there were only 3 scooters. Really only 2. We told one of the people at the door and they directed her to somebody else, while I took the cart out to the car and unloaded it. They were surprised that an employee would act that way. They told Mom that she should fill out a comment card about the scooters. They said if they don't have enough customers saying they need more, they won't get more.So, when we finally got home, I still had to lug the stuff in and put it all away. I was so tired. But, I probably worked off that hot dog.

Wahoo! 6th day!It was too nasty out to eat lunch out there.So, maybe tomorrow? Mom went to her second treatment of that new chemo. I'm hoping she'll feel at least semi-ok when she comes home.I have to do a lot more cooking, since she's supposed to stay away from it for at least a week. I'm thinking those leftovers from last week, for tonight. Makes my job very easy.Just have to heat it up. It's kind of like chili mac, only with those wheel-shaped pasta called Rotelle. Might do the chicken popcorn tomorrow? I'm still not sure.
I watched another new drama called Ghost Friends, yesterday. It's much better than I thought it would be.It's hilarious, yet has a few serious/emotional moments. It reminds me a lot of Ghost Whisperer, only funnier and maybe better.After a school bus accident, Asuka was the only survivor. Ever since then she's been seeing ghosts. They all want her to do special favors for them. In order to fulfill some of them, she gets into really weird/embarrassing situations.She works part-time at a jewelry shop called Marge's. She's good friends with the owner. And, later finds out that Marge used to see ghosts too. Asuka realizes she can help ghosts pass on, by finding the real reason they're still around, and resolving it somehow. Her new friend, Kaito, tells her at the end of the episode that he's a ghost. (He's in the pic.) But, what's weird is everybody can see him. The preview hinted that he's more like a zombie?I guess I'll find out. Her 2 dead friends hang around her while she's at school, too. And they pledge to stay until she graduates. She also sees her dead mother while she's at home. Today, I'm thinking of starting Untouchable. It looks interesting.

His response, "I didn't see another self, another self was watching. It's a Gappeldonger!" He makes up the weirdest things! (And, it doesn't quite make sense.) They make you stop what you're doing, and lose interest in things. Next, was about never ending battles. Examples: Older brother vs younger brother, 1st black presidential candidate vs the 1st female presidential candidate. One of his students says you could be fighting forever once you start a dispute. Like Tom and Jerry, the Middle East, Galactic Empire vs Free Planets Alliance, cats and dogs. Kafuka says if you can make a common enemy, both sides will reconcile.
I started the first slot of the Flavor Meme using Ravel. The first is Ravel's reaction to eating something savory. I did a simple sketch of him, but tomorrow, I'll really draw him. It should be interesting because he wants to be a chef. I'm thinking of having him drool, and have watery eyes as a reaction to this one. Don't know if it will turn out.After that, it's spicy.
