By Yui Aragaki. A fun and motivating song. Yui is a model, voice actress or seiyuu, actress, singer, occasionally a radio host, and former U-15 idol. She debuted as a singer in 2007. I like her sound. I guess I should also look for more of her songs.
It was somewhat cold Friday and yesterday. Today's right around normal. Yay! I'd take normal over being 5-10 degrees cooler.
Today's my dad's birthday! Happy birthday to her!
Next Saturday, we're thinking of celebrating by going to Himalayan Chutney's buffet. They only have it during lunch time, and not on Sunday. It would be nice to try bits of their other stuff.
I'm still feeling sick, and trying not to throw up. So far I haven't. I'm hoping I'm much better tomorrow, so I can get things done.
We didn't go to services yesterday.
I was feeling too sick, and I think mom wasn't feeling very good either. Next week, we're hoping to make it to our cantor's baby's naming ceremony. That should be fun. The Friday night after that, there's a Pride Shabbat. I'm still debating whether I should go.
One of the many sponsors is Birthright Next. So, there might be some people my age. It's important to Dad, too. There's food. That's always a plus.
And, I've been to the temple it'll be at. We'll see.
Finished watching Guilty on Friday. I hate to spoil it, but it's very sad. Almost a Romeo and Juliet-esque ending. Both Meiko and, I'm still unsure, Takuro die. Meiko poisoned herself, and once Takuro saw it, he immediately kissed her. And, ingested some of it as well. I was a little surprised that the person behind it all was her employer at the dog grooming shop. It seemed like a bit of a stretch and they didn't really explain it well.
I actually ended up liking that weird creepy reporter a lot, just as they killed him off. I could have done with a little more humor in the series. I know it's a very 'serious' situation she was in, but a little humor would have taken the edge off. I didn't quite like the acting. Even though, there's a few actors I love that were from other shows. It must have been the directing or something.
I liked most of it, but it wasn't a top fave.
Finished Shibatora today. I really loved this series!
Sad that it ended already. I was a bit surprised again, that the original onigami would be Miduki. I suspected it towards the beginning, but then she got assimilated so much into Taketora's group or family, it seemed a stretch after a while. I was starting to suspect Hokuta's new cop girlfriend. Thinking she was too nice to him. I'm glad it all worked out, and none of the characters I grew attached to, died. Everybody wanted Ochiai dead or behind bars. Even his followers. So, it wasn't a surprised that he'd be killed off. And, I guess it was even less a surprise that Miduki would kill him. He messed her father up, messed with everyone she cared about, threatened her, and was frustrated that the police couldn't really do anything about him. All in all, this was a really good series. Perfect amount of humor as well.

Started another drama on Saturday. It's called Majo Saiban or Witch Trial. It's awesome so far! Toru is a part-time designer, and is called in as a juror in the trial of a woman who's been labeled a 'witch'. She's charged with a murder over an enormous inheritance. In this first episode half the jury immediately thinks she's guilty. It seems there's a strange organization that's starting to set up strange events, to 'influence' the jury. It feels almost as suspenseful as Bloody Monday was. I hope they can keep that up. Plus, they've somehow thrown a tiny bit of humor in. Although, it's dark humor. I like that kind of thing, so it's another plus.

Watched a Japanese movie called Ai wa Mieru or Love Sees. This was really good! It's about the lives of a blind woman who's a singer-songwriter, Juri, and her husband, Kouta, who's also blind. (He's a guitarist and masseur.) And, later, having a normal seeing baby. The couple overcomes many difficulties. She struggled, but Juri finally gets her debut. People used to push her to the side because of her disability. There were some hilarious moments, but mostly touching/trying ones. This was based off of an autobiographical novel, of the same name, by Satoko Tatemichi. I'd definitely recommend this one.
deviantART fave: Sweet melody I did not make this! Really good looking cupcakes. With very 'artsy' decorations. Music theme was nice.
Youtube:
A very fitting Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei AMV. It was inspired by the person seeing/hearing 3 of the openings to the series. It captures the trippiness well:

Or Happy Purim! Can't believe it's already Purim!
Purim is very similar to a carnival and Halloween combined. Halloween in the sense of costumes and candy. We play games, hear the story of Purim, dress up in costumes, drink until we can't tell the difference between Haman (the villain) and Mordechai (the hero), have hamantaschen (pastries in the shape of Haman's hat) and candy, make noise during the story-telling, sing, dance, and other stuff.
We're supposed to be joyous. It's one of my fave holidays. Only this time, we didn't go to the party and I didn't have hamantaschen. Wahoo!
But, we did get a Purim bucket from a family friend. People usually hand these type of things out to friends/family/or even neighbors, and they're usually filled with candy and hamantaschen. This one only had 2 pieces of hamantaschen, so I let Mom have it. It was all Israeli candies and stuff. There's chocolate wafers, hard and soft caramels, honey roasted peanuts, and other various things. Kind of nice.
The weather's finally warming up.
And, it's officially Spring! I felt really strange last night.
First, I was really sleepy, and decided to go to bed early. Then, I couldn't 'settle down' right away. Once I finally was comfortable, my legs were just screaming in pain. And, on top of that, after waiting a bit thinking it would just go away on its own, I had an incredibly strong urge to throw up. (Which I didn't actually do.) Even with the pain, at one point, I just passed out.
I hope that doesn't happen again tonight. I checked to see if anyone has seen my penpal yet on Google's people finder thing. Finally someone said they saw on a list that they found her and she's alive. Yay! That's great. And, it looks like a few of her family members were found too. Nice.
Good news to hear. So, probably, she'll respond to email soon. And, I could hear about what happened to her.
Went to services yesterday. The Rabbi and our cantor led it this time. There was a pretty good turnout. The only thing I didn't like this time, was how fast the Rabbi rushed through it. We got out like a half hour earlier than we usually do.
The Rabbi talked about the 'eternal flame' that was in the Torah portion. (Or, the Ner Tamid.) Which is never supposed to be extinguished. Most synagogues have one hanging over the ark. It symbolizes that G-d's presence is always with us. It was an interesting drash. There was also brief mentions of the disaster in Japan, too.

I started another drama called Mirai Koshi Meguru. In English, Future Teacher: Meguru. This is hilarious, and a bit off the wall. But, it's just enough campiness to make it fun to me, and actually has an interesting plot. Meguru's an English teacher at a cram school. On her 24th birthday, she suddenly has the ability to see 20 years into the future of the people around her. Her grandfather has the same ability and told her when she was little, she'd become a teacher. He always told her to never eat until you're 100% full, but to only 80%. Now, she knows why. Everytime she fills up entirely now, she can see everybody's future selves. Supposedly, she can find out info from the person's future self by emailing them, and putting a bunch of @ in the subject. I'm liking it so far.

Started another one today called Shibatora: Babyfaced Detective Shibata Taketora, or Shibatora for short. This one seems pretty unique, too. Lots of hilarious moments, but suspenseful and intense in other moments. The characters all have their own quirks, which is another draw for me. Shibata looks younger than he is, and gets mistaken all the time. He looks like a middle school student, but is really 24 years old. He's a detective and is an expert swordsman in Kendo. Ever since he saw his parents die in front of him, he's been able to see the 'hands of death' around people who are going to die soon. He worked undercover to infiltrate a street gang and bust a prostitution ring. Next time, it looks like he'll work undercover as a junior high schooler. I'm liking the story so far, and the characters.

I finally got to watch the movie, Ginmaku Hetalia- Axis Powers Paint It, White. As you can tell from the date in the pic, it's almost been a year since it came out. Apparently, they put it up online only a few days ago. It was hilarious! And, I thought since it's only 5 minutes an episode, it would be like 20 minutes long. But, happily, it was just over an hour!
The plot to this one was a bit off the wall, but that's kind of to be expected with Hetalia. Aliens, called the Picts, have invaded Earth and are 'painting' things white and distorting them. The people who get zapped by the 'paint' turn into mindless faceless beings. Russia, France, America, England, China, Germany, Japan, and Italy decide to band together to save the world. There's appearances of Canada, Cuba, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Greece, and Sealand as well. Apparently, since Switzerland and Liechtenstein are neutral, there's a barrier the aliens can't cross. The main countries try to showcase themselves to the aliens in order to promote peace and to stop the invasion. That was really interesting. China had his food, dancers, and dragons. France, his food. Russia, his ballets. The Picts that those were weird. America showed off a casino and playboy bunnies. They seemed to really like that. Japan did an Obon dance, and they loved that too. England gave them scones, and they immediately were turned off by it. Germany tried to give them some of his beer, but couldn't. Italy didn't show anything about himself, but they liked him a lot. In the end he, with the encouragement of Grandpa Rome, saves everyone.
Played a bit of the Sims 2. Taiwan and Hong Kong are feeding Japan smart milk. He glows after drinking it. It's kind of creepy. But, he is learning much quicker. He's only been a toddler for about a day, but he knows how to walk and is potty trained already. Usually it takes about 3 days to get them to learn those. Taiwan was promoted. HK has gone beyond the skills needed to be promoted, and has plenty of friends. But, for some reason, he hasn't been promoted. Maybe he will soon.
We went out to a new restaurant downtown for dinner. I got their 3 cheese tortellini with a tomato and vodka based sauce, and 2 pieces of garlic bread. It was really good. Very intense flavor for the sauce. The tortellini were huge! Don't see too many where you have to actually cut them up. Then, we all had the leftover mint brownies for dessert at home. It was all good!
deviantART faves: Minton Minton Summer Nostalgia I did not make these! First, a nice drawing of Yamazaki from Gintama. Second, a really tasty looking pic of some artfully made cupcakes.

An interesting story with the song called Old Radio, sung by the Kaito Vocaloid:
A somewhat sad song where the Miku Vocaloid sings about having an empty stomach:
This was one of the first Vocaloid songs I downloaded. I didn't know the name or the video at the time. But, now I know! It's hard to find, and I randomly found it on Nico Ongaku about a year or 2 ago. It's cute. It's called Unyapu, and song by Kaito.
This pure classic Gintama at it's best. Hilarious!
3rd opening for Fairy Tail. Also, give you a little taste of the series:
