Scar

Mood::iconchibipolandplz:

By Rip Slyme. This is a definite new fave!:iconchibihungaryplz:Latin flare, jazzy, energetic, etc. The first time I heard it was during the ending theme of Joker. The drama I just started last Thursday. It's looking like another really good mystery/crime drama. It's about a 'mild-mannered' detective named Date. The police force call him a 'Buddha' or a 'Saint' because of his personality. He doesn't seem to get angry or upset while on the job. But, when a criminal gets away scot-free, he takes matters into his own hands. After work, he finds these criminals and viciously punishes them. He doesn't kill them, he just makes them suffer, and then sends them to some deserted place.:iconitalyishorrifiedplz:Very interesting show. Oh, and I found a ton more songs! Yay!:iconthailandplz:

It felt nice and warm today. It was somewhat chilly in the shade, and warm in the sun. Kind of a typical Fall day. I finished watching Bambino. Nice ending.:iconchibiamericaplz:Ban makes it to a restaurant in Rome. The head chef of Baccanale leaves with the chef that was in Hakata to a small island. They open up a restaurant there. They feel happy to start from scratch, and in solitude. It's sad that it's over though.:iconrussiacryingplz:It was one of my first Jdramas. I think Ando Natsu was the first, and that was because I briefly saw it on TV Japan. I'm still not finished with that one, though. The last episode isn't subbed.:iconchibienglandplz:I'm debating whether next time I should just watch it without subs. I don't know.

I finished my 2nd application with Kesher. Now, I have to wait.:bored:They say, soon I'll get an email asking me to accept or decline a trip that they select for me. When that happens, and I accept it, I'll know that I'm going. Sometime between now and a few weeks away they're going to do a phone interview. Even if you know you're going, they still will call. Yay! I love waiting!:icontinoplz:

I went to services on Saturday. Had a pretty good turn out. We had both cantors and the Rabbi leading it this time. Interesting, when it's all 3 of them. And, it sounds awesome!:iconfrancisplz:The parsha this time was about the tower of Babel. It was a pretty interesting one, and I somewhat agreed with the Rabbi's drash.:wow:

Later, we went to pick up Dad's contacts, and my trial pair contacts. These seem to be pretty good, and stay clear throughout most of the day.:iconchibisitalyplz:Then, we went shopping. I found a nice pair of pajamas. I really needed them. The pants have snowmen running up and down them, and the top has a snowman in the corner. (Top is red in the background.) It says You Make Me Melt. Kind of cute.:meow:Another one I was thinking of, was with a sleeping penguin, saying Need a Nap? I barely ever look at things like that, but for some reason they called out to me. So, why not?:iconeestiplz:

Then, we ate at Pho Tai. They're a new restaurant really close to where we live. It's a Vietnamese/Japanese one. We have a Pho restaurant right next to it, that we've been going to for a while. So, it was interesting to see what this one would be like. I think they have a lot more of a selection at Pho Tai.:iconkikuplz:My mom and I split their Vietnamese style spring roll with tofu. I liked theirs more than the other place's. Didn't fall apart as much, and I guess more solid. I ordered the Chicken Katsu. It came with sauce on the side, sticky rice, and a cole slaw-type salad. It was very good!:iconitalyplz:Only problem was, they had huge portions. I barely could eat half of mine. So, Mom and I have enough for another meal, and we'll have that when Dad's gone tomorrow night.:iconhappychinaplz:

Watched more of Gonzo. It's an awesome show so far!:iconheroamericaplz:I love the humor, the 'realness' of it, great acting, etc., so far. Played a little of the Sims 2. Germany finally made it past toddler stage.:dummy:Good thing, because maybe now I can get his parents promoted some more. He took a lot out of them. Understandable, but they were demanding things they couldn't afford.:iconwtfromanoplz:I might even let them live longer with those fountain of youth things. I finally made an extra room for Germany, and I'm making a large bathroom coming from his room. Upstairs I might make like a rec room or something. It'll have a piano, exercise equipment, etc. So, there's lots more I want to play around with.:evillaugh:

I saw what looks to be a good recipe at みんなのきょうの料理 (Or Today's Menu for Everyone. Supposedly more simpler version of Today's Menu.) It's a walnut nikujaga. Nikujaga is a meat and potato stew. Usually, the meat's beef. It sounds really interesting with walnuts and curry powder. Might make it someday.:iconchibiaustriaplz:Watched Ghost Friends today. It was really funny this time. Asuka seems to be falling for Kaito, who's a ghost. She's debating whether humans and ghosts could actually love each other. Interesting.:iconchibijapanplz:

By Back-On. It's a 5 member band from Tokyo. In Japanese, their name, is the sound of an explosion. All the members had started out in separate bands. But, gravitated towards each other. They sound kind of cool.:iconchibihungaryplz:I might look for more of their songs. This one sounds really pretty, and kind of has a tinge of sadness to it. I'll post the Youtube video at the end.:iconchibicanadaplz:

Well, we didn't make it to the Simchat Torah service Friday night.:iconohboyamericaplz:Both Mom and I were too tired. We went out for errands so late, and by the time I finished making dinner, we would have, maybe, made it to the tail end. But, that's without eating yet. Oh, well. I made green chili stew (from a can) with chicken and carrots on top of some rice. It was very good!:iconitalyplz:Just a little too spicy.:onfire:I love spicy food, but ever since I was first in the hospital, I've had a hard time digesting it.:icontinoplz:That stuff used to be all I wanted to eat. I used to order extra jalapeños when I went to Mexican restaurants. Sometimes eating them by themselves.:iconfrancisplz:I liked the spicy curries too. I feel like something's messing without it.:iconwtfromanoplz:Although, I've noticed there's a lot of other good stuff out there.:iconhappychinaplz:

Mom led services the next day. We had it pretty laid back, and sat in a large circle. Actually had a good turn out.:iconchibisitalyplz:This was the first parsha for the year. Which is the beginning of Genesis. The part where G-d's creating the Earth. And a little about Adam and Eve. Mom had a different type of translation from the Hebrew, and we went over it. (Actually, supposed to be more accurate, and follows a similar rhythm.:iconeestiplz:) Very interesting stuff. A different way of thinking about it too.

Later, we went to my 2nd eye exam. Turns out, the one he prescribed before, wasn't staying in the center of my eye, but sliding around. Makes sense.:iconkikuplz:Especially, when it was fine one second, and the next I couldn't see anything. So, I guess I'm stuck with an astigmatism prescription for it. They're going to give me an exact prescription sample in a few days. So, we'll see if it works. I hope it does, because it's such a pain to keep going back there.:iconromanoplz:

I played a little of the Sims 2. Got Prussia to get promoted a few times. I think he's a detective now. (I made similar characters to Prussia and Hungary from Hetalia as a couple.:iconchibiprussia2plz::iconchibihungaryplz:My characters aren't historically accurate, it's just for fun. In case you didn't know.) They actually had a baby. It was probably one of the most interesting things in the game. She was feeling some morning sickness, then all of sudden her belly grew a day later.:iconchibijapanplz:She had maternity leave, and then had the baby 2 days later. Standing up, and in a lot of pain. Prussia didn't even notice it was going on.:iconitalyishorrifiedplz:I named him Germany. (Just to go with my theme.) He seems to like Prussia the most. They put him in his crib, but there's no blanket for him.:iconraivisplz:He starts to cry when his icon turns yellow. And, sometimes I have no clue what he really wants. I didn't know where his bottle was at first. I got a message saying, what parent doesn't feed their child! He's just skin and bones! Find a bottle as quickly as you can or something bad will happen.:iconchibilithuaniaplz:I found it in the refrigerator. But, it was a little scary at first. Changing his diaper's funny.:iconenglandispervyplz:He gets green fumes coming from his butt (much like when you leave something out too long), they throw the dirty one into the air and it lands in the trash. Then, it's normal, putting powder on him and a fresh diaper. The baby's kind of cute.:iconus-xdplz:I like how in this version of the Sims, you can make a family line full of many generations. I just never got that far. So, I'll see if I can go through a couple with their family. Meanwhile, Hungary still has some time off, so she's quickly working on her skills to get another promotion while caring for Germany. Craziness!:dummy:

I watched Bambino and Ando Natsu. Next week, I'll be finished with both shows. I liked them, so it's kind of sad.:iconsadrussia:Although, that gives more options to watch more awesome Jdramas. Mom's at a Mahjong tournament for the entire day. I hope she has a lot of fun!:iconchibipolandplz:

Innocence

Mood: :iconthailandplz:

By Alice Nine. Another great rocking song from them. The translation of the lyrics is very interesting. They actually put thought into their songs. One of the lines pretty much sums up what they're singing: "We are all just alone in the end, searching for our place to be." I think it's cool. :iconspainplz:

It was pretty warm yesterday. Close to around 80 (~27C). It was pretty nice.:iconchibicanadaplz:Watched Bambino on Friday. Only 2 more episodes left!:iconprussiaplz:Ban seems to get depressed in almost every episode. He was practicing for a competition that if you win, you'll get to work the kitchen. And have your dish on the menu. He was trying so hard, he was neglecting his actual work. He realized and backed out of it. Letting someone whose wanted to work in the kitchen for 2 years, win. A year goes by, and they realize how hard he's worked as a waiter, and tell him he can finally work in the kitchen again.:iconchibipolandplz:The preview for the next episode sounded like it would be the finale. But, there's one more episode up.

I watched Ando Natsu on Saturday. It's always a touching and emotional show. I usually hate that type of thing, but this seems different. I guess more genuine?:shrug:Oyakata's mother visits, and Ryuu leaves his family to become a better chef.

Today, I watched a new drama called Gonzo: Densetsu no Keiji. Or Gonzo: The Legendary Detective. It's a lot better than I thought it would be.:iconchibispainplz:It's funny, intense, smart, and reminds me a bit of our police dramas like Law and Order: SVU or Criminal Minds. Maybe a little CSI, too. Gonzo is slang for a police officer who doesn't work or do his job in Japanese. In English, it can mean an idiot, or crazy. So, it has a double meaning. His real name's Kuroki. One of the female detectives may have been killed.:iconitalyishorrifiedplz:She was walking with someone to their train station in the rain, when they were shot suddenly. The hospital told them that one of them died. They're not telling us who.:iconromanoplz:I liked her, and that was out of the blue. They have a victim's counselor at the police station. She's funny, and smart. Kuroki is seeing her because of a traumatic experience he had while working in the homicide unit. Again, they haven't told us exactly what happened to him.:iconkikuplz:He worked in the equipment unit after that. (Kind of like a Lost and Found.) By the end of the episode, they wanted him working in homicide again.

I'm going to start a few more dramas in the next few days.:iconheroamericaplz:More of an opportunity to hear and learn more Japanese. Also, I'll get to find out some more about the culture. I went to services again!:dummy: We had a pretty good turn out. Some people from the other congregation showed up, so that was interesting. The Rabbi led it this time. I couldn't pay too much attention to the drash, because I was trying to get the sun out of my eyes. It, of course, was coming through a window up towards the ceiling at me just as he was talking.:iconchibienglandplz:He talked a little about sukkahs. (Sukkot is plural, really.) Since, it was still the holiday. By the way, today's the 4th day!:iconchibiamericaplz:The Rabbi shook the lulav and etrog, and we had kiddush outside in the synagogue's sukkah. Kiddush is when we say the blessings over the wine (or grape juice) and the challah. It ends the service.

For lunch I ate in our sukkah, in the backyard. It was really nice.:iconchibisitalyplz:Also, had something I haven't eaten in years, Beefaroni.:wow:I don't think I've had it since I was really little. Later, we went shopping and went to a brewery called Silver City. We've been there many times, but they supposedly revamped their menus. I got a Greek pizza. It was so good!:iconitalyplz:We ate in their outside seating area. Kind of like eating under a sukkah.:iconfrancisplz:I couldn't eat the whole pizza so it made a nice lunch for today.

I played a little of the Sims 2. Finally, got both Prussia and Hungary promoted a few times. They're making enough, I might let them have a kid. Hungary really wants one. They also have their own little money tree grove. Like 4 or 5 trees together. I could put down more. They give $40 each, and they're ready to be harvested every couple of hours. I'd like one of those.:iconusaplz:I also did my nails again. This time it's called Scarlett O'Hara. So, naturally, it's a very dark red. It's got a little sparkle in there too.:iconchibihungaryplz:I bought the DVD-RW's finally! I had wanted them for a while. That should come by the end of the week. And, it was free shipping! Since I was on Amazon already, I looked at my account. I got rid of, at least, half the things I wanted a year ago on my lists.:iconwtfromanoplz:I got really distracted by everything on there. And was on there longer than I had hoped. Was able to find a couple more songs, though. Later, I have to plan out what I'm making for this week's dinners.:iconchibilithuaniaplz:
